Dried Flower Mani ; I have never received more nail compliments than when I had this one.

It was a bumpy ride, but the compliments I got from this mani basically validated me as a person.

The Ringer, Dude (or Darling Diva's answer to Fantasy Fire/230)

A while back I ordered a few polishes from Darling Diva Polish and posted the bottles last month, you know, last time I updated.

Anywho, included in this order was a homemade dupe for Max Factor Fantasy Fire/Clarins 230. It's $8 and available in the US vs like $15 or $akajillion on Ebay.

It's pretty good. I don't have 230, because I love money more than I love hard to find polish, that's just unfortunately how it is. I do have Fantasy Fire and as you can see, it's pretty close.

Butter London Disco Biscuit vs Icing Lipstick and Lovers

TO THE DEATH

Not really, they aren't dupes or anything. Just similar in style and very different in price. The Butter London cost me $14 smackeroos, the Icing was $4.50 (or $2.25, as I took advantage of their BOGO sale).

Here's some photos to compare. The pinky and bird are Disco Biscuit, the index and ring are Lipsticks and Lovers. Disco Biscuit has blue micro glitter in a hot pink jelly base, Lipstick and Lovers is blue shimmer in a hot pink jelly base. Both are beautiful and in my opinion, a must have.

 In the shade:

So if say... you were wanting a hot pink jelly with a bit of blue tinted sparkly to it and you like Disco Biscuit, but don't $14 like it... Lipstick and Lovers might be for you.

I've joined a cult.

A while back I got my first Cult Nails polish in the form of Toxic Seaweed and was so happy with it, I wanted to show it off to everyone, constantly shoving my fingers in people's faces and saying "Do you see the copper flakes? Don't you just love it's depth?" Before that, I wasn't really all that interested in Cult Nails because they are $10 and it seems like I saw similar colors just about everywhere.

Flash forward a few weeks later: I have acquired seven new Cult Nails bottles and both manis since receiving Divas and Dramas has included them, even though I have bought several other brands in the last week or so. I'm simply smitten. Swatches do not do this polish justice and I am glad I initially just bit the bullet and bought one.

My first mani was two coats of Cult Nails Enticing, a layer of All That Glitters Spotty Dottie Goldie and then another layer of Enticing. I think it turned out very pretty, though it did take a while to dry and I smudged my index after about half an hour of trying not to touch anything. I used Nail Envy as base and NYC Grand Central Station as tc, because the gals on MUA said it was amazing. It was aight.

Next I did Cult Nails Seduction, four layers. Then the sun went away and I tried for two days to get a photo that showed the actual color, because in reality it's a reddish purple, with multicolored flakies. The photos make it look a lot more blue than it actually is.

After having this on for three days, it did chip a bit using Nail Envy as base and Seche Vite as topcoat. The SV did shrink the hell out of my mani and I didn't bother fixing it. Also, finally, low and behold, I was able to show the purple when I took a photo with my crappy cell phone camera. Go fig. This is probably more color realistic:

I also hauled quite a bit this last week. I was supposed to be on a no buy.

Easter Nails / Sacrilegious is my middle name.

I did a couple Easter manis over the last week or so.

First I did a holo mani, with:

Ludurana - Maravilhosa
Layla - Mermaid Spell
Ludurana - Supremo
Orly - Luxe (accent)

Then I did a little Easter Egg thing:

Pretty & Polished - Tart
Pretty & Polished - Jawbreaker w/ several Sally Girl scented pastels (you know, the ones in the mini bottle they sell for a buck by the register?) and OPI Pedal Faster Suzi as the squiggles on the eggcent nails.

And last, but not least, to commemorate the most famous rising of the dead:

Dollish Polish - Zombie Flesh
